Manchester's Hungry Pigeon festival will take a year off in 2011, as organisers seek to expand the festival for 2012.
In a statement released this morning, organisers cited the need to re-organise in order to put on a more ambitious event next time around.
“Quite simply the size and success of Hungry Pigeon has outgrown the organisational infrastructure within which it was being organised,” festival chiefs said in the statement. “So we have decided to take a fallow year to enable us to plan an even bigger and more exciting event in 2012."
The likes of Athlete, Reverend Soundsystem, Liam Frost and Kid British have featured over the last couple of years, alongside local acts, DJs, poets, artists and circus acts in venues in the Northern quarter and Piccadilly areas of the city.
Updates regarding future plans will be found at the festival's website and on Virtual Festivals.
