Organisers of Cumbria's Kendal Calling 2011, held from 29-31 July at the Lowther Estate in Penrith, have unveiled a slew of new acts to join the line-up, with Craig Charles set to curate a funk and soul tent.
Hip-hop duo House of Pain celebrate their 20th anniversary on the Main Stage, where they’ll be joined by Frank Turner, Easy Star All Stars, Frankie and the Heartstrings, Sonic Boom Six and Lancashire Hotpots.
Chicago house producer Derrick Carter leads the charge for the Glow Dance Stage, where he’ll be joined by techno DJ Adam Freeland, Herve, Yousef and Japanese Popstars.
Funk DJ Craig Charles is also set to host the Craig Charles Funk & Soul Club, featuring The Leonard Jones Potential, Ariya Astrobeat Arkestra and Smoove and Turrell.
He said: “Kendal Calling is my home festival, it’s an honour to be invited back. I hope you can afford the repair bill when we tear the roof off the Lake District and smash it into a million funky little pieces!”
The latest acts join a line-up which already includes Chase & Status, The Cribs, Blondie, Echo and the Bunnymen and Levellers.
