Metalheads the world over have been in a frenzied mood after a poster purportedly revealing Sunday's line-up at Download Festival 2015 was posted by KISS' Gene Simmons on Twitter.
The poster shows KISS, widely rumoured for Download, headlining the Sunday (June 14) night of the festival, joined further down the bill by Motley Crue, Enter Shikari and Slash featuring Myles Kennedy.
Download’s chief booker Andy Copping has, however, said the poster is a fake and Simmon’s tweet has subsequently been deleted. All we know is that a Download Festival announcement is coming shortly, and it would be very likely that at least two of these acts will be playing the festival come next June. Watch this space!
@genesimmons Is trolling. Some mad fan posted this…not true…sorry

Various sources have confirmed Motley Crue are planning to tour Europe next summer and the band have already been confirmed for Sweden Rock Festival next June, which takes place the weekend before Download Festival.
American rockers KISS last played Download Festival in 2008. The band have sold more than 100 million albums worldwide and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame earlier this year, nearly 15 years after becoming eligible. They also released ‘Kiss 40’ earlier this year, an album designed to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the band, it contains one track from every album the band have released over their 40 year career.
Download Festival 2015 takes place at Donington Park near Castle Donington, Leicestershire, England from Friday 12 – Sunday 14 June.
Download Festival standard tickets are currently not on general sale, but are expected to be released for sale before the end of the year. RIP, guest area and hotel packages, inclusive of Download Festival tickets, are however available now.
