All 112,000 tickets to the 2005 Glastonbury Festival have sold out in less than 3 hours - setting a new record. Fans snapped up over 1000 tickets per minute after they went on-sale at 9am, Sunday April 3
The 112,000 weekend tickets cost £125, with fans able to buy up to two each. Improvements to both the online and telephone booking system proved to be a great success, with few reports of difficulty in getting through to place orders, in stark contrast to the problems experienced last year.
Ticket-owners will need to show a legitimate photo ID to enter the festival, which will be matched with the name on their ticket, in the continuing attempt to stamp out touts.
