Glassjaw at Reading Festival 2011 - review. We want your reviews too!

Glassjaw open promptly with a complete rendition of their latest EP ‘Coloring Book’ and it’s clear these aren’t the immediate hits the crowd expect. However the Radio 1/NME tent soon swells for the rousing early-evening alt-metal sermon.

Daryl Palumbo is in talkative mood as he dispels our beliefs in god and gives a dynamic display, bending every which way with each vocal yelp and swoon.

The pit explodes in every direction too and dominates the action under the record-breaking canvas cover above. The hardcore band finally consume themselves in their own blackhole of obscurity as they debut an as-yet-untitled new song.

‘Mu Empire’ breaks the curse and reignites the crowd in vocal chorus.

Then with Bond like ‘save the day’ timing, closer ‘Ape Dos Mil’ is the piece of inspirational set-list making that tips the show into the band’s favour. A lesson in the proverb; those who do not learn from history are condemned to repeat it.
