Friendly Fires to play Bestival 2009

Friendly Fires will play Bestival this year, the band have let slip.

The trio, who hail from St Albans, Hertfordshire, let the cat out of the bag when deputising for Zane Lowe on his Radio 1 show.

Lead singer Ed Macfarlane said: "We've got Bestival confirmed which is our favourite festival so we're really looking forward to that one."

He also added: "We're headlining one of the stages at The Big Chill. We'll be there dancing along with the kids."

It will be the second time the band have played Bestival after appearing on the BBC Introducing Stage in 2007.

Bestival 2009 will take place at Robin Hill Country Park, Newport on the Isle Of Wight from 11-13 September.

No bands have been officially confirmed for the boutique festival.

Tickets are on sale now priced at £140 for the weekend. Click HERE to buy.
