Friendly Fires have been confirmed as headliners for this year's Standon Calling.
The St Albans band, who are famed for tracks like ‘Paris’ and ‘Jump In The Pool’ as well as their polished and energetic live show, will top the bill on the Saturday (1 August) night.
Other names confirmed today include rising stars Golden Silvers, Mumford And Sons and The Invisible as well as The Aliens, Tommy Sparks, N.A.S.A. and Freeland – Adam Freeland’s live group.
Manchester’s Delphic, The Fontanas and Babyhead have also been added to the line-up along with Detroit Social Club, The Fabulous Penetrators and Dent May And His Magnificent Ukulele.
Organisers have also revealed that Pulled Apart By Horses, Banjo Or Freakout, Ark People and Flashguns will play over the weekend along with Chancery Blame And The Gadjo Club and Five Minute Pop Promo.
Lulu Lampshade, Downtown Wolves and Annie D wrap up the latest announcement for Standon Calling 2009 which will take place at Standon in Hertfordshire from 31 July to 2 August.
Femi Kuti And The Positive Force, Ladytron, Tony Christie and Easy Star All Stars are among the many names already announced.
This year organisers have made the event space themed with NASA space camps, tethered hot air balloons, the annual fancy dress competition and Galileo’s Space Observatory making it feel like you’re Neil Armstrong.
??The festival will also include secret areas, cutting edge music, spoken word performances, art installations, interactive theatre, swimming pool – with underwater dance area – boutique camping and a children's area.
Tickets are already on sale priced at £89 for a weekend camping pass, with £2.50 per ticket going to the charity Phoenix Futures, a charity who support victims of drug and alcohol abuse across the UK.
