Franz Ferdinand are the latest band to be confirmed for the Primavera Sound 2012 line-up.
The Barcelona event marks the first confirmed date for what’s expected to be a busy return to festival action for Alex Kapranos and Co. next summer, with a new album also expected sometime next year.
Organisers confirmed via the Primavera Twitter page earlier today that the Glasgow art-rockers would be playing in Spain.
The line-up announcements have been coming thick and fast for the festival and its Portuguese sister event, Optimus Primavera, with Death Cab For Cutie, the xx, Spirtualized, Beach House and The Dirty Three among those confirmed last week.
Wilco, The Drums, Washed Out and Veronica Falls are also on board for next year already, with more still to be announced in the coming months.
Bjork will be one of the headliners at both events.
Primavera Sound 2012 takes place at the Parc Del Forum in Barcelona from 30 May to 3 June.
Tickets are priced at 160EUR (plus 9.50EUR booking fee) and are on sale now.
