Foster The People have cancelled their appearance at Pukkelpop 2011.
The band were due to play The Club on 18 August at the Belgian festival, which will take place in Kiewit Hasselt.
In a statement they said: “We are deeply saddened that we have to cancel our appearance at Pukkelpop. We have been looking forward to the festival all year long but have been forced to cancel for reasons beyond our control. Please know that we are extremely eager to get back to you guys very soon and are currently working to schedule dates as soon as possible. We apologize for the inconvenience and hope to see each of you very soon.”
The band’s cancellation means that stage times for Young The Giant, Fitz & The Tantrums and Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros have shifted.
Foo Fighters, Eminem, Duck Sauce and Deus will headline this year’s event, which runs from 18-20 August.
The Californian group’s other European festival shows, at the Reading & Leeds festivals and Dublin’s Electric Picnic, appear to be unaffected, with the dates still listed on their website at the time of going to print.
Pukkelpop 2011 tickets have sold out.
