Foo Fighters cover Queen at Big Weekend 2011

Foo Fighters lead singer Dave Grohl thanked fans for supporting the band for the past 16 years as they headlined Radio 1's Big Weekend main stage.

The band played to a capacity tent roaring through hits like ‘Avalon’, ‘Pretender’, ‘Monkey Wrench’, ‘White Limo’ and ‘Best Of You’.

Grohl admitted that it was difficult to pin down a set list because they have “a hundred songs” but gave each band member a chance to shine with drummer Taylor Hawkins taking vocal duties at one point.

The group weren’t done there though, as they closed with a cover of Queen’s ‘Tie Your Mother Down’.

Radio 1’s One Big Weekend 2011 continues today with sets from Lady Gaga and The Strokes.
