Foo Fighters coming up for Eire

The Foo Fighters have confirmed their headline appearance at next year's Oxegen Festival in Ireland. A limited number of tickets go on sale this Friday.

The 2004 event featured The Strokes and The Darkness headlining after David Bowie cancelled. Next year’s festival will take place at Punchestown Racecourse Naas, Co Kildare (July 9-10) subject to license.

Promoters MCD said they were giving music lovers a festive Xmas treat with an early offer to allow music fans to purchase at this year’s prices. Tickets will be available from this Friday until Christmas.

The tickets, including booking fee at this year’s prices cost €59.50 for one day, €110 for two days and €130 for two days plus camping, and will go on sale on December 3 to December 24.

Foo Fighters frontman David Grohl said the band is currently working on a follow-up to 2002’s “One By One”, which is due to go into pre-production.
