Flogging Molly at Leeds Festival 2011 - review. We want your reviews too!
Fresh from a trip to the homeland for shows in Belfast and Dublin, Flogging Molly and frontman Dave King are obviously feeling patriotic. Dedicated to the peace process across the water, the boisterous Irish punk fury of ‘Drunken Lullabies’ sends the Lock Up tent into chaos.
Opener ‘The Likes Of You Again’ and new rebellion anthem for the nation’s unemployed, ‘Revolution’, go down a bigger storm than Leeds has been treated to from the miserable skies all day.
‘Devil’s Dance Floor’ followed by ‘What’s Left Of The Flag’ is the undoubted highlight, the former’s “Swing a little more, a little more next to me” refrain as much a rabble-rousing chorus as it is a command to jig like a crippled Michael Flatley. They round off a fantastic set perfectly with ‘Seven Deadly Sins’ leaving the Lock Up Stage a euphoric shambles.
