First Global Gathering acts revealed in online game

The folk at Global Gathering have come up with a novel way of announcing the first slew of acts for this year's festival - an online computer game.

We’ve spent most of our Friday afternoon finding out who will be performing by playing a snowboarding challenge online.

The person with the highest score will not only win VIP tickets to the Staffordshire event, but they’re find out exactly who they’ll be dancing too as well.


So far we’ve found out that Judge Jules, Simian Mobile Disco (DJ Set), Sander Van Doorn, Loco Dice, Zinc, Breeze And Re-Con, Kevin Energy and Kutski are among the acts set to hit the decks this summer.

Other names revealed include Dougal And Gammer, Heartless Crew, Timo Maas, Steve Angello, Noisia, Fabio And Grooverider and Tall Paul as well as Joker, Mark Knight, Andy C and Simon Patterson.

We also managed to reveal that Scratch Perverts, Brookes Brothers, Bookashade, Joy Orbison, Mark Eteson and Lisa Lashes are due to play come July.

If that lot whet your appetite and you’re not quite good enough to get on the game’s leaderboard to win those VIP tickets, early bird weekend passes are on sale now priced at £126.50 with a deposit scheme available, which allows festival-goers to spread out the ticket payments.

The first payment can now be made up until 5pm on the 31 March, whilst the second payment deadline is 5pm on the 14 May.

and Dizzee Rascal will headline the event, which is set to celebrate its tenth birthday this year.

Global Gathering 2010
is set to take place at Long Marston (Avon Park Raceway) in Stratford-upon-Avon from 30-31 July.
