As predicted, Foo Fighters and Green Day will headline this year's T In The Park, but there's a few surprises with the inclusion of Beautiful South and Audioslave for the Scottish festival.

A total of 14 bands have just been announced to play T In The Park 2005 at the event’s launch party in Glasgow.

Foo Fighters will headline on the Saturday, with Keane, Embrace, The Streets, Audioslave, Beautiful South and The Coral also confirmed.

On Sunday, Green Day will head up the bill, with The Killers, Prodigy, Kasabian, Ian Brown, Razorlight and Biffy Clyro playing as well.

Tickets go on sale at 9am this Saturday and you’ll be able to buy them by clicking right here!

The festival’s boss Geoff Ellis said: “It’s fantastic to welcome back Green Day to the event – this time in a headline slot. In addition, we have already secured some of the biggest and best acts of the moment, including 2005 Brit award winners Keane and The Streets, with many more to be announced over the coming months.”

Yesterday Ellis told Virtual Festivals that he’s in negotiations to bring another massive act to Balado – a personal favourite of his, who he claims, “will be worth the ticket price itself!”

Unfortunately we’ve been sworn to secrecy, but we’ll let you know as soon as we’re given the all clear! VF took the trip up north to present T In The Park its UK Festival Award 2004 for ‘Best Facilities And Organisation’.

T In The Park 2005 takes place at Balado, Kinross, Scotland, on the 9-10 July. CLICK HERE for more.

Tickets for this year’s event, the biggest of its kind in Scotland, went on sale for a limited period in 2004 during which a third of tickets were sold. They go on sale again at 9am Saturday (12 February) and are priced at £82 for the weekend (+ £15 for camping) or £46.50 for day tickets.
