The Best Major Festival in the UK, according to readers of this website, returns with its strongest headliners yet to Balado, Scotland, on 8-9 July. We can also unveil a bunch of other huge acts. Read on for details.
Red Hot Chili Peppers and The Who are set to headline the Main Stage on the Saturday and Sunday respectively. Other acts confirmed today (days and stages yet to be specified) include Arctic Monkeys, Kaiser Chiefs, Sigur Ros, Primal Scream, The Ordinary Boys, Felix Da Housecat and long-term resident dance heroes Slam.
The festival will mark Pete Townshend‘s second consecutive appearance at T, after the Who guitarist stepped in to play guitar with friend Rachel Fuller last year.
Over 170 artists will play across 10 stages, including the Main Stage, the R1/NME Stage, the King Tut’s Tent, the X-Tent, Futures Stage, the 12,000 capacity Slam (dance) Tent and the T Break Stage, which continues to champion the very best in homegrown unsigned talent.
Many more acts will be announced over the coming weeks.
Festival boss Geoff Ellis said:
“The team are extremely proud of the recognition we received at the UK Festival Awards, however, these accolades don’t mean that we will ever rest on our laurels as we know that the very thing that sets T in the Park apart from any other event in the world is the incredible passion of the Scottish audience and we will continually strive to make the event a better and more enjoyable experience year on year. This year there will be developments to the site layout to make it even easier for fans to move around and there will also be improvements in the campsite including more entertainment and increased security measures.“
