Moving away from the metal and heavy rock bands that dominate the bill, Feeder are among the latest acts announced for the inaugural Sonisphere festival.
They will be joined by Taking Back Sunday with both bands billed as ‘UK festival exclusives’, despite Feeder playing Coastival earlier this year and Taking Back Sunday set to play Give It A Name later this month.
Speaking about their performance, Feeder frontman Grant Nicholas said: "It's great to be playing at Sonisphere. I saw some great bands play at Knebworth when I was younger.
“It is an amazing venue and has hosted some of the most amazing shows over the years. It will be our only UK festival appearance this year as we are busy working on the next Feeder album – so we will be rocking as hard as ever."
Other acts announced today include Frank Turner and Skindred who will join headliners Metallica and Linkin Park as well as Airbourne, Alice In Chains and Nine Inch Nails.
Sonisphere 2009 will take place at Knebworth House from 1-2 August.
Weekend camping tickets are on sale now priced at £157.50 (plus booking fee).
Other options available include a two-day pass without camping (£132.50), family camping tickets and coach options too.
