Eavis: ‘We tried to get Prince for Glastonbury’

Glastonbury Festival 2011 organiser, Michael Eavis, has said that he tried to get Prince to headline the event this year.

The festival chiefs missed out though with Prince set to play Hop Farm Festival in July instead.
He told the Daily Star: “I tried to get Prince earlier on. At one point, he was, then he wasn’t, then he was. It was a question of a bird in the hand.”

Michael Eavis joked: “I think I must’ve set that one up.”

He also added: “In the end I went for the bands we have on the bill now, which ain’t bad.”

Glastonbury Festival 2011 will be headlined by U2, Coldplay and Beyonce and will take place at Worth Farm, Pilton from 22-26 June.
