Glasto organiser Michael Eavis has revealed the dates for next year's Musical Extravaganza concert, which is held annually in Glastonbury Abbey - meaning you don't have to bring your wellies.
The event will take place on Saturday, 6 August, and Sunday, 7 August 2005, with the Royal Philarmonic Orchestra already confirmed to play.
[r-zone1]Michael told VF: “The 2004 Extravaganza was perfect – the weather was fantastic, even the sunset excelled, the crowds were great, and the performances wonderful. Van Morrison performed from his extensive songbook, The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra provided stunning entertainment accompanied by water fountains, giant screens and fireworks. Jools Holland and his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra, accompanied by the amazing Sam Brown and Ruby Turner, had the time of their lives, and turned Sunday evening into one massive party for all to enjoy.
“It is still to be finally decided who can better the entertainment provided at this year’s concerts, but one or two mouth-watering options are under consideration.”
[l-zone2]In response to popular request, Michael has also announced that gift vouchers will go on sale this week in time to purchase them as Christmas presents. These vouchers can later be exchanged for tickets for either of the two concerts and do not have to be exchanged until Sunday’s line up is finalised.
Vouchers are on sale now priced at £25 from Glastonbury Festival Office – 01458 834596 – and from Tourist Information Centres in Glastonbury, Street, Wells, and Shepton Mallet, as well as The Glastonbury Abbey Shop.
