Death metallers, Decapitated, have had to cancel their appearance at this Saturday's (5 November) Damnation Festival 2011 after an aeroplane they were on crash landed.
The band were returning from a tour in America this week, when the plane was forced to crash land in Poland.
Footage of the crash landing can be seen above.
Decapitated released the following statement: “We are extremely sorry to inform our fans, that due to unforeseen circumstances that are out of our control, we will unfortunately have to cancel our shows in Aalborg (Aalborg Metal Festival) and Leeds (Damnation Festival).”
Festival organiser, Gavin McInally added: “It’s a major blow to the festival to lose a band like Decapitated, especially with only days to go but I understand entirely why they need time to recover from what must have been a terrifying incident.
“It’s disappointing news for both us and the band but most importantly, no one was seriously injured and hopefully we will be able to host Decapitated in the future.”
Following the news, Ulver have extended their set to 90-minutes and organisers have pledged to do everything possible to make things up to disappointed Decapitated fans.
Damnation Festival 2011 tickets are still on sale now priced at £29.

Gavin McInally added: “Despite this set back, we will continue to put the final touches to this, our seventh edition of Damnation Festival- and it’s shaping up to be an awesome day.
“Earlier concerns about poor ticket sales have been laid to rest; the Damnation faithful have shown their true colours and this looks set to be a stormer of a festival. All that’s left for you guys to do is show up, and party hard with us.”
Devin Townsend Project will headline this Saturday’s metal bash, which takes at Leeds University Union, with performances from Turisas, Evile, Godflesh and many more.
A number of the artists on the bill will also be hosting signing sessions including Devin Townsend, Turisas and Chthonic, among others.
There will also be a metal market selling merchandise, CDs and other assorted goodies.
