VF is proud to announce two Glastonbury Showcase gigs we're staging in London. Indie legends CUD will headline one of the nights before we whisk them off to play the Left Field Stage at Glastonbury as part of our Friday night's entertainment...
Glastonbury Showcase takes place at London's Islington Academy on Monday 11 June and Tuesday 12 June.
Arranged to get Glasto-goers in the mood (and those who've missed out a slice of the action), the two nights will feature several of the acts playing on Glastonbury's Left Field stage.
Virtual Festivals will once again be programing Friday night's entertainment at the Left Field and we can reveal there will be a distinctly early-90s theme regarding some of the acts…
Tickets for the Tuesday's showcase are on sale now, priced at £13.50, and available HERE.
Joining CUD on the night will be the, as yet unknown, winner of Glastonbury's new bands competition, plus one other very special guest.
One of the best indie bands of the late '80s and early '90s, CUD launched their comeback last year with a sold out UK tour and look set to storm this summer's festivals, with Summer Sundae also confirmed.
In 1992, their anthem 'Rich And Strange' featured in the NME's top five festival songs, while reviews editor Steve Lamacq heralded the 'health benefits' of the band to help to survive Glastonbury!
Suitable then that CUD will be performing on the Left Field at Glastonbury.
Hosted by Virtual Festivals.com and Shelter, the evening will include performances from two other major indie names from the golden era of the early 90's, along with a host of top contemporary names and one VERY special surprise act who first made their name at the festival a couple of years ago and have since gone on to international stardom.
For the uninitiated, the Left Field is an area of the site run by the trade union movement to promote the cause of social and economic justice. With a covered venue holding nearly 5000 people, and an outside area dominated by the massive Left Field Tower, the stage has become synonymous with the traditional, campaigning spirit of Glastonbury.
We've got loads planned for the Left Field, so we hope you'll come down and see us. First though, pop along to Glastonbury Showcase.
