Cradle Of Filth guitarist injured at Bloodstock

Cradle Of Filth were forced to cut their headline show at Bloodstock Open Air short after guitarist Paul Allender was hit by an unidentified object thrown from the crowd.

The band, who played on Saturday (15 August) night, were unable to continue following the incident as Allender was taken to hospital for treatment.

Festival organisers released the following statement, "One selfish ticketholder soured an amazing day and a stunning performance by the closing headliners.

“We're hoping that the rest of the fans in attendance will enjoy the rest of the weekend with the camaraderie and unity that has made Bloodstock Open Air the great festival it is.”

Europe, Carcass, Saxon and Arch Enemy also performed at Bloodstock Open Air 2009 which took place at Catton Hall, Derbyshire from 14-16 August.
