The hotly anticipated reunion of '90s band the Cocteau Twins, which promised slots for the Scottish act at Coachella and T In The Park, has been called off.
Cocteau Twins were due to be playing Coachella on 30 April and were known to be on T In The Park festival boss Geoff Ellis’ wishlist.
However a statement issued this morning by the band’s management said: “It is with regret that Cocteau Twins announce they will not be performing at the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival as had been planned.
“Due to personal reasons, member Elizabeth Fraser has decided that she is unable to participate in the reunion, and apologies for any inconvenience this has caused. No future plans for any reunion are currently being made.
“Our sincere thanks and apologies to all the fans and media who wrote to us expressing your enthusiasm and support.”
Cocteau Twins were founded in Scotland in 1980 and found massive critical acclaim and a devoted fan base obsessed with their atmospheric, textured music and Fraser’s distinctive, ethereal vocals.
