Chris Cornell has cancelled his Download Festival appearance as well as the rest of his European tour.
The singer songwriter was the pencilled in as the penultimate act on the main stage on the Sunday night but has had to pull out citing recording commitments.
In a statement the singer said: "Due to an extended recording schedule, I will be able to perform in front of my European fans a few months later than expected. With that said, I plan on touring extensively through Europe and the rest of the world through 2008-2009."
Download organisers have yet to say whether or not they will replace the ex-Audioslave guitarist at the festival.
KISS, The Offspring and Lost Prophets will headline the festival, which takes place at Donington Park, Castle Donington from 13-15 June. Tickets for the event cost £150 for weekend passes and camping. Click HERE to buy
