A brand new wave of acts have just washed up on the Boardmasters line-up for 2016 as this year’s festival bill grows ever bigger.
Chase and Status and Catfish and the Bottlemen lead the latest Boardmasters announcement. They both join previously announced headliners Primal Scream, Deadmau5, Lianne La Havas, Wolf Alice, James Bay, Kaiser Chiefs and Craig David.
Also announced today are Kano, Foxes, Krept & Konan, Soul II Soul, Protoje, Mike Skinner & Murkage present Tongo, Raleigh Ritchie, Soak, Danny Howard, Spring King, Big Deal, CamelPhat, Apres, Toucan, Ben Remember and Eliza and the Bear.
Boardmasters returns to Newquay in Cornwall from Wednesday 10th to 14th August 2016, packed with surf competition, extreme sports and live music .
The festival takes place across across the Watergate Bay music arena, which has 8 stages of music, and Fistral Beach, which hosts Fistral Beach Retail Village, ‘Beach Sessions’ gigs, Beach Bar, and skate & BMX competitions.
Established in 1981, Boardmasters has become a mecca for UK surf enthusiasts, keen to witness the festival’s famous international surf competitions. Fistral Beach is famed for its surfing and Atlantic swells. The Cribbar, at the north end of the beach, is considered to be Cornwall’s premier “big wave” spot with wave faces as high as 40 feet (12 m).
Boardmasters tickets are on sale now, priced at £134 plus an £8 booking fee for an adult weekend from Thursday to Sunday.
‘Long weekend’ tickets for Wednesday – Sunday are priced at £144 plus £8. Children under the age of seven can attend for free with a free child ticket but must be accompanied by an adult (18+) holding a VIP, weekend or day ticket.
