A bundle of bands have just been added to beef up the Radio 1 / NME stages at this year's Reading and Leeds festivals, including Hot Hot Heat, Willy Mason and Maximo Park.
There are also another three bands that have just been added to the main stage on the ‘heavy rock’ Reading Sunday (Leeds on Friday). They are Alkaline Trio, Turbonegro, and Bullet For My Valentine.
But it’s on the smaller Radio 1 / NME stage where most the new additions are. On the Friday of Reading and the Saturday of Leeds, Cooper Temple Clause, My Chemical Romance, Fightstar, and The Subways will precede Kasabian and BRMC.
On the day headlined by The Tears and Babyshambles (Reading on Saturday, Leeds on Sunday) Hot Hot Heat, The Kills, and The Others have been added.
And joining the NME Radio 1 Stage at Reading on Sunday and Leeds on the Friday are British Sea Power, Willy Mason, The Duke Spirit, and Maximo Park.
The Reading and Leeds Festivals take place simultaneously over the bank holiday weekend of 26-28 August at Richfield Avenue, Reading, and Bramham Park, Leeds.
