Bloc Party to headline Icelandic festival

Bloc Party are one of the first bands on the bill as a host of international acts head to downtown Reykjavík in Iceland for the ninth annual Iceland Airwaves...

Bloc Party have been announced as one of the first headliners for Iceland Airwaves with local heroes Múm.  Icelandic favourite’s múm will also be performing, but the electronic act are set to play live at the festival for the first time rather then their usual DJ set.

The five day event is to announce 170 acts in total.  Other notable acts include: !!! (chk chk chk) who will be flying over from New York to play at the festival and the Canadian rapper Buck 65.

The hotly-tipped Elephant Six Collective legends Of Montreal from America will be making an appearance at the Scandinavian festival alongside Icelandic dance act Gus Gus.

(IS), Kira Kira, Lay Low (IS), Mammút (IS), Motion Boys (IS), Mugison (IS), múm (IS), My Summer as a Salvation Soldier (IS), Ólöf Arnalds (IS), Elephant Six Collective legends Of Montreal (US), Pétur Ben (IS), Reykjavík! (IS), Retro Stefson (IS), Seabear (IS), Shadow Parade (IS), Sign (IS), Sprengjuhöllinn (IS) Steed Lord (IS) og Ultra Mega Technóbandið Stefán (IS).
