Biffy Clyro are the second headliner to be announced for Sonisphere, after Slipknot were revealed on Friday. They will make their only UK festival appearance at Knebworth, on the Saturday.
The band recently won the Virtual Festivals Critics Choice Award at the UK Festival Awards for their phenomenal performance at Glastonbury in June.
The hard-rock festival has also confirmed the return of its Apollo and Saturn stages (which rotate so fans can see all of the main acts) along with Bohemia (which will expand its comedy bill in 2011) plus the Strongbow Bowtime Bar, The Redbull Bedroom Jam and Jagermeister stages.
This year sees early-bird ticket buyers offered the choice of attending not one, but three extra festivals abroad for free. Fans purchasing Knebworth tickets will be able to apply for either a free ticket for the Poland leg of Sonisphere plus an additional free ticket for either the Czech repulic leg or Austria’s Nova Rock Festival on 11-13th June, – where System Of A Down will headline. Free tickets are subject to availability and will be issued on a first come first served basis.
Tickets will go on general sale at 9am on Friday 10th December right here, with VIP Rock Royalty and O2 pre-sale tickets available on Wednesday (8th).
