A slew of new acts have been confirmed for the Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival 2011 line up, as organisers reveal a new stage.
The Jock The Reaper Stage features an old combine harvester turned into a dance arena will the likes of Filth DJs, Sketch, Niteworks DJs, We See Aliens and Phono DJs.
“It’s kind of Mad Max in a tartan bunnet meets the Wurzels in Ibiza,” said promoter Joe Gibbs. “As farmers we’re always being urged to diversify. Well here’s some diversification – with attitude! I’ve always admired the prehistoric dinosaur age look of combines and it occurred to me a while back that this could be put to some entertainment purpose when a harvester reached the end of its working life as an implement. ”
Other acts set to perform across the weekend include Organised Noise, Fridge Magnets, Graeme Platt, Default & Picasso, M Stell, Mykol Blyth, Mark Mackenzie and many more.
Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival 2011 will take place at Belladrum Estate, near Beauly in Inverness-shire from 5-6 August.
Texas and Deacon Blue will headline the Belladrum Festival 2011 line up, with Newton Faulkner, Frank Turner, Little Comets and Dry the River among the other acts confirmed.
