Ash are the final headliner to be announced for Galtres Festival 2012.
Tim Wheeler and co. will top the bill on the event’s Saturday night (25 August) on the main Duke Stage, with Guillemots set to play beforehand.
The trio are believed to be working on new material following last year’s ‘Best of’ and their ‘A-Z’ Series of 26 songs released fortnightly for an entire year. Former guitarist Charlotte Hatherley also returned to the fold for a one-off tour where the band played their third album ‘Free All Angels’ in full, but having just launched her new project Sylver Tongue, it’s likely that the band will either revert to their original three-piece line-up for their summer shows, or have a different additional guitarist in tow, such as when Bloc Party‘s Russell Lissack toured with them last year.
Galtres Festival 2012 takes place at Crayke, near York on 24-26 August.
Buzzcocks and and an acoustic set by Simon & Oscar from Ocean Colour Scene head things up on Friday, with Adam Ant and The Good, The Mad and the Lovely Posse, Billy Bragg, Seth Lakeman and The Men They Couldn’t Hang playing on Sunday.
Hope & Social, Littlemores, The Travelling Band, Ellen & the Escapades, and Jon Gomm will also perform over the weekend, while the Firkin Stage will also have a few open mic slots.
