The Arctic Monkeys stepped onto the main stage looking cool, calm and collected to a massive crowd.
The Sheffield born band got straight down to business playing song after song with little acknowledgement of the crowd and not showing much emotion or enjoyment either.
The only rock star moment came when Alex Turner performed an unexpected guitar slide, which livened up the otherwise sombre performance. The crowd really got off their feet when Turner screamed “I’m going to Shabooms” before tearing into ‘I Bet You Look Good On The Dance Floor’.
The set was seamless with effortless musicianship, but lacked in connection with the crowd, though the masses didn’t seem to mind much as the entire field danced and bopped along to the indie greats.
