The first major artists for Glastonbury have now been confirmed. Bjork will headline The Other Stage on the Friday night and The Arctic Monkeys will perform on the Pyramid Stage.
Emily Eavis made the revelations to Q magazine. Meanwhile, festival booker Martin Elbourne also revealed that Glastonbury had turned down an offer from the Red Hot Chili Peppers to perform for free. This was on account of the Pyramid Stage Headline slots already having been filled.
The full line-up is not expected to be officially announced until early June. Glastonbury 2007 will take place at Worthy Farm, Pilton, Somerset from Friday 22nd to Sunday 24th June (with the gates opening on the Wednesday).
As a new measure to stop touts, all those wanting to buy a ticket for the festival will need to pre-register between Thursday 1st and Wednesday 28th February 2007. You will be able to register both online and by post. Stay posted for full details on this.
