Arcade Fire and Pixies have both shortened the odds on their playing Glastonbury Festival 2014 with the announcement of a new show in Ireland next June.

Pixies confirmed two Irish shows this morning, including one supporting Arcade Fire in Marley Park, Dublin on Sunday June 29 and one headline show at The Marquee, Cork on Monday June 30.

Glastonbury Festival 2014 takes place from 25-29 June on Worthy Farm in Pilton, Somerset so the dates certainly work perfectly for both Arcade Fire and Pixies to make appearence at the five day West Country festival.

Tickets for both the Arcade Fire show at Marlay Park and the Pixies show at The Marquee go on sale this Friday (Dec 13) at 9am.

Arcade Fire have already announced two, now sold out, shows at Earls Court, London on 6 & 7 June 2014  and also a handful of European festival dates, including Primavera Sound in Barcelona, Spain and NorthSide in Aarhus, Denmark.

Tickets to Glastonbury Festival 2014 sold out in record time last month, beating the one hour and 40 minute sale period set in 2012.

Those lucky enough to have got tickets now have to wait until the first week of April in 2014 when the remaining ticket balances of £160 plus a £5 booking fee will be due for both Uk and international buyers. The re-sale date is usually in late April and is expected to be announced for either April 20th or 27th in 2014.
