Sweet 16s are usually full of tittering girls, but the 16 new bands confirmed for this year's Primavera Sound will have fan giggling with excitement instead.
The Big Pink, Shellac and Liquid Liquid are all set to perform at the Spanish event alongside The Clean, Ui, Amercians Polvo and Bradford Cox’s solo project Atlas Sound.
Indie rock duo No Age, pop rockers Spoon and HEALTH have also been announced today along with Bristol’s Fuck Buttons, Yeasayer, Cold Cave and Real Estate.
The Psychic Paramount and Standstill will also appear this May.
Pavement and Pixies will headline the festival with Wild Beasts, Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry, The xx, Superchunk and more are already confirmed.

Early bird tickets are available until this Friday (15 January) at 130 Euros for the weekend before the price increases to 140 Euros.

Primavera Sound 2010 will take place on the 27-29 May in the Parc Del Forum, Barcelona.
