The Road To V bands competition has been whittled down to ten semi-finalists.
Stadium rock sounding Reading lads The Quotes and pop punkers Underline The Sky were the top two acts voted for by the fans and will perform with mentors Just Jack and The Charlatans at this month’s Great Escape for a chance to open August’s V Festival.
Epic rockers The Last Republic, raw rock and roll group Bleech, bedroom wizard Paul Dixon and female-fronted urban popsters Akayzia will also appear after being selected The Charlatans.
Just Jack chose electro quartet Duologue, strange pop acts Jazica, kooky solo act Dimbleby And Capper and Birmingham indie lads 51 Breaks as part of the finals which will take place from 14-15 May.
Over 12,000 votes were cast for the finals and after the bands perform in Brighton, the mentors will whittle down their final selection and the voting booths will re-open for fans to decide who opens the V Festivals.
Previous Road To V winners include Young Knives (who went on to receive a Mercury Award nomination in 2007) and Bombay Bicycle Club (who signed a deal with Island Records in 2008).
The list of the semi-finalists is as follows:
Underline The Sky
