With Miles Davis and Ray Charles on the list of past performers the Montreux Jazz Festival requires little introduction.

Set on the Swiss shores of Lake Geneva the town has welcomed the cream of the Jazz world since 1967 in the most intimate of settings.

Whilst staying true to its musical heritage the festival also branches out to satisfy the musically curious with names like David Bowie and Massive Attack bolstering the line-up in previous years.

For a whole two weeks in July, festival goers from all over Europe will flock to the various venues around town to take in an ambitious selection of concerts, some of which will be free.

International flights run to Geneva International Airport while Montreux station is well served by the Swiss rail network, the SBB.
