About M'era Luna 2009

M'era Luna professes itself to be Germany's biggest alternative and dark music festival. While it is obviously for all to enjoy the most eclectic characters here will not be those with huge dreadlocks and fluorescent clothing. Think more along the lines of gothic medieval damsels with flawless pale faces and gracefully laced gowns.

Held on the 8 and 9 August 2009 at Airport Drispenstedt, an old British army base near the city of Hildesheim, the major colour will be an elegant black.

Bands like Subway to Sally, Die Apokalytischen Reiter and Zeraphine will this year provide the heavier part a distinctly German line-up while a darker, atmospheric side will be headed by Alexander Veljanov (of Deine Lakaien) and Untoten.

Shows will take place between the main stage and a converted aircraft hangar where DJs will take things into the early hours of the morning on both nights for those dressed in various PVC and leather outfits or those wearing the more conventional t-shirt.

Fans from Germany, Denmark and beyond are expected to attend. International flights from a variety of European destinations run through Hanover/Langenhagen International Airport while the high speed ICE train network operates from Hannover Hauptbahnhof station with links to Germany's surrounding countries.
