About Main Square Festival 2009
Another of Europe's best city fests, the Main Square Festival has been taking over Arras' main square (la Grande Place d'Arras)
every year since 2004.
Back then Placebo were headlining, last year saw Radiohead and Sigur Ros take centre stage while
this year the line-up is already a mouth-watering work in progress with the announcement of Coldplay as bill toppers.
A
different musical theme typically unfolds on each of the festival's three days catering for the 25,000 dance, rock, pop and
that converge on the city each year.
Many hotels, hostels and campsites are located in and around Arras which is also
on the high speed rail network (TGV) serving northern France. Lille Lesquin International Airport is also a short distance
away with many European connections.
