8 stages, over 200 artists spanning anything from alt-rock and pop to hip-hop and dance, stand-up comedy, roaming street-theatre
and a diverse selection of visual art installations, Lowlands is as close as a festival can get to being the complete package.
Consistently
securing a stellar line-up with the likes of The Ting Tings, The Roots, Sigur Ros, MGMT and Erol Alkan playing last year the
festival attracts around 60,000 revellers, raising its own little village on Holland's plains each year.
The town wouldn't
be complete without a market where punters can buy anything from clothes to CD's, a barbers shop for a good freshening up,
a local radio station and newspaper, it's own currency and even a tattoo parlour for a more permanent souvenir.
Seven
luxury campsites are also available to punters, each with their own hot showers. Who could ask for more?
Dronten, the
agglomeration that accommodates Lowlands is directly connected by rail to major Dutch, Belgian, French and German cities as
well as Amsterdam Schipol Airport which serves many major European destinations.
