About Local Heroes Final 2006

Local Heroes is a nationwide new bands competition with the two winning bands taken on a fully managed tour of UK festivals, including Summer Sundae, Bulldog Bash, Get Loaded In The Park, Foundation Festival, Beautiful Days and Secret Garden.

Using an online platform, bands were invited to upload tracks, profiles and pictures and generate their own community by galvinising their fans. Broken down into nine UK regions, the most popular band from each is now set to battle it out in front of their armies of supporters at Islington Academy in London.

The night will be hosted by XFM's Shaun Keaveney and a panel of industry experts will be on hand to pick the two winners.
