Liverpool is set to host a down-sized version of SXSW for four days in May. The showcase soiree is for industry insiders, promoters, tastemakers and music lovers alike and will provide a platform for up-and-coming bands.

The City of Culture for 2008 will have bands performing across several venues in the cultural quarter following the theme of the 'DIY Generation'. There will also be conferences and panels held over the long weekend as well as labels hosting their own nights.
