Liverpool Music Week 2009 Information
About Liverpool Music Week 2009
Liverpool Music Week 2009 kicks off on 29th October and runs through to 16th November, the festival which is now in its 7th
year, has grown from a single venue gig to a burgeoning nationally recognised event, and has fastly become the UK's biggest
indoor winter music festival, which attracted over 55,000 people last year.
This year's line up is by far the biggest and most diverse to date, covering every genre imaginable from rock, indie, dance, folk, leftfield and beyond.
Acts confirmed to perform include The Specials (Sold Out!), Kasabian, Seasick Steve, Calvin Harris, Super Furry Animals, The Enemy, Reverend & The Makers, The Enemy, The Gallows, The Brand New Heavies and Soft Toy Emergency, Daniel Johnson, Wild Beasts, Chrome Hoof, Bombay Bicycle Club, Maps, The Bays, The Invisible, Grammatics, Field Music and Dananananakroyd to name a few. Host venues include Bumper, The Masque and Alma De Cuba.
However, despite attracting big name artistes and staging some of the cities biggest ticketed shows, the true ethos behind the festival still remains, which is to support new music and offer a performance platform for fresh emerging talent, which is why the backbone to Liverpool Music Week is the free music show agenda.
Over 2 weeks, 20 city centre venues will host over 80 events and feature over 390 live acts, most of which are all for free. So, as well as checking out the big name acts, be sure to check out the free music gigs which are in abundance, you may be surprised at what you find.
