The excitable Glastonbury rumour mill has gone into overdrive, with a variety of websites claiming
that the headliners for this year's festival, said to be; Paul McCartney, Oasis and Muse,
have been finalised.
However, the organisers have responded stressing that no official announcement has yet been
made concerning the line up for Glastonbury 2004, and none are expected before June 2.
As for the
rumours, Paul McCartney's participation at Worthy Farm this year has been public knowledge
for ages. Oasis are claiming on their official website to be "currently in talks about appearing on Friday
night", while Muse are yet to make any comment.
Other artists to have self-confirmed an appearance
over the weekend are The Chemical Brothers and P J Harvey, and rumours of Prince,
James Brown, OutKast, The Cure, Faithless, Christie
Moore, Damien Rice and countless more have been doing the rounds for a while.
Tickets
for the festival go on sale at 8pm on Thursday 1 April.
