Adele: 'I would have a heart attack if I did a festival'
Singer reveals why we're unlikely to see her this summer
Daniel Fahey - 02 March 2011
The singer, who is the first living artist to hold two top five hits in the Singles and Albums Chart simultaneously since
The Beatles, told the Daily Record she suffers from stage fright.
"I can't do them. They make me nervous.”
Adele told the paper, "I am crippled
by stage fright. It gets worse the more I've been doing things."
She continued: ''I can't even have a
bit of Dutch courage because I do not drink when I am singing. I have to go on and grin and bear it but it disappoints me
because I am so nervous that I'm never as good as I like to be for the first two songs.
"I think I would
have a heart attack if I did a festival. The thought of that many people coming to see me or nobody coming to see me would
make me shit myself.”
