In an interview with The Independent today (28 February), the singer talks about his new £500,000 "multi-revenue
stream" agreement with Power Amp, an investment firm specialising in the music industry, that he calls: "the
best deal I ever had".
The piece outlines how the deal, "helped fund the recording of his first solo album and
the two parties share in 'income opportunities' ranging from recording, publishing and touring to merchandise and sponsorship."
Power Amp chief executive Tom Bywater confirms during the story that the investment
"includes a meaningful amount from Libertines gigs."
Having reformed last year for Reading
and Leeds, The Libertines are among the rumours
for Glastonbury Festival 2011,
while a headline show in Hyde Park has also been mooted.
