Def Leppard to headline Download Festival 2011

Band will join System Of A Down, Linkin Park at Donington

As rumoured by Virtual Festivals, the band famed for tracks like 'Animal' and 'Love Bites' will top the bill when the event returns to Donington Park in Castle Donington from 10-12 June.

Pendulum, Korn, Alice Cooper, Rob Zombie and Aveneged Sevenfold are among a slew of acts announced previously.

Other acts confirmed today (Wednesday) include Bring Me The Horizon, Disturbed, Madina Lake and Black Stone Cherry.

The King Blues, Bowling For Soup and Frank Turner will appear over the weekend alongside Turisas, Cheap Trick, All That Remains and Sacred Mother Tongue.

Asking Alexandria, The Devil Wears Prada, Straight Line Stitch, Jameson Raid and Ghost join the bill as well.

Download Festival 2011 tickets are on sale now priced at £180 for a weekend ticket with five days camping, £170 for a weekend ticket with three days camping and £145 for a weekend-only ticket.
