Eight new acts announced for island festival

Indie rock outfit The Courteeners, Band Of Horses and American pop-rock favourites We Are Scientists have been added to the Main Stage of the festival on Friday alongside headline act Kings Of Leon.

Mike & The Mechanics and Big Country will feature on Saturday's Main Stage line up alongside Pulp, Foo Fighters and Seasick Steve who have already been announced.

ABC will play the The Big Top on the Thursday night before Boy George plays a headline slot.

Finally Various Cruelties and Springbok Nude Girls have been added to The Big Top on the Sunday, Wonderland and Edei to the Friday line up and The Cult have been added to the same stage on Saturday.

With Kings Of Leon, Foo Fighters and Kasabian headlining the event, and the likes of Beady Eye, Tom Jones and The Vaccines also set to perform, all tickets have been snapped up well ahead of time.??

Isle of Wight Festival 2011 takes place at Seaclose Park, Newport from 10-12 June.
