The Strokes announced as V2004 Headliners

XFM announced this morning that The Strokes will be one of the headline bands for this year's festival(s) at Chelmsford and Stafford.

Strokes lead the charge for V2004

XFM's breakfast show today announced the confirmation that The Strokes will be headlining V2004 at Chelmsford and Stafford.

We've had them down as a rumour for some while, but it's now official, and the word from the organisers is that more confirmed acts will be announced early next week.

The Strokes are also confirmed for Scotland's T in the Park and Ireland's Oxegen (formerly Witnness) Festival. We also have them listed on our Glastonbury rumours page, but obviously don't expect a confirmation on that until the official line-up announcement a lot closer to the festival.
