Major music event set for 2011 début in Florida

The organisers behind the UK's Reading and Leeds, Latitude and Big Chill Festivals have announced that they are set to host a major new festival in Orlando, FL, USA.

Festival Republic have confirmed that the event will bring four stages of live music to 50,000 festival goers in Florida – the largest event of its kind in the East coast state.

“I am absolutely thrilled to announce that Festival Republic is launching a brand new music event in Orlando which will bring a wealth of amazing talent to the USA’s Sunshine State,” said Melvin Benn, Managing Director of Festival Republic.

“I have been looking for new opportunities in the US and I am really pleased that this will see the Festival Republic family expand to the US for the first time.”

Dates for the as-yet-named festival have been confirmed as 11-13 November 2011 with line-up, venue and ticket details to follow.
