More join Association Of Independent Festivals

Seven new events join as members

End Of The Road Festival, Kendal Calling and Beat Herder are among seven new members that have joined the Association Of Independent Festivals (AIF).

Grassroots Eco Music Festival, Deer Shed Festival, Outside:Inside Festival and Bearded Theory also join the body, which already has the likes of Bestival, Green Man and Glade Festival on its books.

Speaking about the latest additions, AIF general manager Claire O'Neill said: "We are happy to see the continued growth of the AIF membership. It's a positive reinforcement of the Association's value, providing a voice that will be heard for the independents.

"2010 has seen a host of industry wide issues come to light that will directly affect independent festivals. The need to join together for collective action has never been more apparent.”
