Acts from any genre are welcome to enter the free competition, which has previously seen applications from Stornoway, Scouting for Girls,
We Have Band, Golden Silvers, Ellen and The Escapades
and the Subways.
The competition will be open for one week only, from 10-17 January
on the official Glastonbury website.
When the entries are in, a panel of 40 will compile a longlist of 120 acts,
which will be cut down to a shortlist of ten by judges including festival organisers Michael and Emily Eavis.
A live showcase in April will then decide the winning act.
For more information about the competition,
visit the Glastonbury Festival website.
Fatboy Slim and The Coral are already self-confirmed for the festival, with more artists expected to join them in the
spring.
U2, Coldplay,
Paolo Nutini, Pulp,
The Strokes and The Chemical Brothers have all been tipped to join them on the line-up.
Tickets
for this year's festival have sold out, but a small number of resale tickets are expected to be released in April.
Full details on buying Glastonbury Festival tickets will be available on Virtual Festivals closer
to the time.
